I'm a Christ following, husband loving, boy momming lady on a journey day by day (some days more gracefully than others). Our life with two little boys is not usually quiet, but we strive to keep it joyful. I'm excited to have you join me on this path! I hope something speaks into your life in a way that helps you shine on those around you!
This post contains the story of my home water birth with my oldest son. It’s about the moment I became a mama! I remember spending hours pouring over birth stories I found online trying to figure out how labor would be. So, in a way, this is me giving back to that! I hope this post finds some mama somewhere, nervous about birth, and shows her that she already has within her what she needs!
All photos in this post are credited to Foothills Midwifery. There aren’t many of the actual labor because, well, it was ridiculously fast for a first time labor.
When Dylan and I were first married, it was really hit or miss what nights we’d have a meal cooked or what nights we’d be having teriyaki or pizza. Over the years, I’ve really come to love cooking and planning out my week. There are so many parts of homemaking that I still need to work on (a lot… hello mount laundry). But as a working mama I do have a few systems in place that really help keep life flowing.
By far the biggest time and money saver has been meal planning! Y’all, this post is longer than my others because I give a lot of helpful things I’ve learned along the way, so get ready. Read More »
Friday, my husband almost brought home baby goats. Last weekend, he brought home a baby bunny. We have an actual baby. I am in school studying babies. We just got baby chicks. I don’t think we have a baby PROBLEM around here, what we’ve got is a baby SOLUTION 😉Read More »
I started drinking Kombucha in college when I wanted something fancy, but didn’t want anything alcoholic. The light carbonation is AMAZING and I found awesome flavors like white tea & rose, lavender with blueberry & ginger, raspberry with lemon & ginger, etc. It’s sort of tangy, sort of sweet, sort of sparkly. I was hooked!
There’s never a dull moment here! House cleaning? We could work on it. Patience? We try. Communication? Getting there. Excitement? Always!
Yesterday, I was wiped. It had been a long night Saturday evening and after we’d gotten the boys to church and back, I was spent! I went to lay down and read for a little while (thank you awesome husband!) and awoke to a quiet house. I basked in it, relished in it, soaked it all in. It’s always a little suspicious, but I figured everyone must be outside enjoying the rare sunny spring day.Read More »
A few weeks ago, we had a snow day and I stopped in to see my former doula/current mama friend and opened up my heart to her. She, probably more joking than not, said “Why don’t you come be a childbirth educator!” You guys, sometimes God picks the oddest of moments to plant a calling on your life.
Hours of Googling ensued, and I’m so excited to register this week for the International Childbirth Educators Association and my childbirth educators course this week! My husband, the wise businessman and negotiator that he is, made only one request before he signed on with my dreams: I had to go observe an actual childbirth class (our budget with our first had only allowed us to get a doula OR take a class, we opted for the doula).Read More »
